Thorough examinations, clear explanations

I take time to listen to your concerns, examine you thoroughly and explain my assessment. Together, we discuss suitable treatment. Depending on your symptoms, ultrasound, ECG and lung function testing are available at my practice.

Where needed, I arrange laboratory blood, urine or stool tests. I explain the results and adjust your treatment if necessary, so you understand what the findings mean and what happens next.

Some of the concerns I can help you with

These are a few common reasons patients come to my practice. Your concern is not listed? Please get in touch – we can discuss how I can help.

Earache, blocked ears and ear infections

Does your ear hurt after swimming? Is your hearing muffled, or do you have an uncomfortable feeling of pressure? I examine the ear canal and eardrum using an ear endoscope with a camera. This allows me to identify problems such as inflammation, impacted earwax or a foreign body and explain the findings clearly.

I can remove earwax and suitable foreign bodies under direct visual guidance at my practice. If you have an infection, I discuss appropriate treatment and prescribe medication where needed. I also explain what to consider when swimming, caring for your ears and, where relevant, before flying. If further care from an ENT specialist is necessary, I explain the next steps.

Cystitis and urinary tract infections on holiday

Burning when passing urine, frequent urges to urinate or lower abdominal pain? I discuss your symptoms, examine you and test your urine with a dipstick. If needed, I send a urine sample to the laboratory for a culture to identify the organism and its antibiotic sensitivities. Depending on the findings, blood tests or an ultrasound examination may be useful. Where necessary, I prescribe an antibiotic using a Spanish electronic prescription and explain how to take it and when a follow-up is needed.

Inflamed insect bites and unexplained skin redness

Is an insect bite becoming increasingly red, warm, swollen or painful? I examine the affected area and ask how your symptoms have developed. I assess whether this is a local reaction or whether there are signs of infection, and discuss treatment with you. If needed, I prescribe medication electronically or arrange laboratory tests. You receive clear instructions on caring for the area and when to contact me again.

Minor injuries and wound care

A cut, graze or wound that is not healing well? I examine the wound, assess its depth and any signs of infection, and provide cleaning and treatment within the scope of my practice. I also consider your tetanus vaccination status. I explain how to care for the wound, arrange follow-up where needed and discuss any further treatment that may be necessary.

Colds, sore throats, coughs and fever

I take time to discuss your symptoms and carry out a thorough physical examination. Depending on your symptoms, this may include examining your throat and ears and listening to your heart and lungs. Where needed, I arrange targeted tests, blood tests or lung function testing. I explain my assessment and suitable treatment, prescribe any necessary medication electronically, and discuss the expected course of your illness and any follow-up.

Back pain and acute lower back pain on holiday

If your back suddenly becomes painful, I examine your movement and, depending on your symptoms, assess muscle strength, sensation and reflexes. We discuss how the pain started and whether further investigations are needed. I explain treatment options, prescribe medication if necessary and advise on movement and easing the strain. If physiotherapy would help, I can put you in touch with a physiotherapist for treatment at their practice or a visit to your accommodation.

Forgotten your medication or run out?

I review your current medication, doses and relevant medical history. If possible, bring your medication list, an existing prescription or a photo of the packaging. Where medically appropriate, I issue a Spanish electronic prescription, which you receive by email. If your usual medicine has a different name here or is unavailable, I look into a suitable alternative. Depending on your needs, this may also be possible during a video consultation.

Medical certificates and sick notes

Have you become ill on holiday and need a certificate for your employer or insurer? I take your medical history, examine you as appropriate and document the findings. On this basis, I can issue medically justified certificates or confirmation that you are unfit for work. Please bring any specific requirements or forms from your insurer.

Diarrhoea, vomiting and abdominal symptoms

I discuss how your symptoms have developed and examine your abdomen and general condition, including checking for signs of dehydration. Depending on the findings, an ultrasound examination, blood tests or laboratory stool tests may be useful. You receive a clear explanation, suitable treatment and practical advice on drinking, eating and the next steps.

Rashes and allergic skin symptoms

For a new rash, itching or unexplained skin changes, I examine the affected areas and ask about possible triggers, new medication and associated symptoms. I explain my assessment and discuss suitable treatment. Where needed, I prescribe medication, arrange laboratory tests or recommend assessment by a dermatologist.

Not sure whether you need a doctor?

Feeling unwell but unsure what your symptoms mean? You are welcome to describe your concern by phone or email first. We can discuss whether an appointment at the practice or a video consultation would be helpful. During your appointment, I take time for your questions, examine you as appropriate and explain whether further investigations are needed.
